Bloody Mad 2012

Londoners pulled the 2012 Olympics their way today leaving Paris stupefied over how, for a third time in four tries, the IOC could past them up….again. In general though, I don’t understand what all the commotion was about since everybody in the know (and I know EVERYTHING….’cause I’m kool like dat) knew that out of the five reamining cities it was Paris and London that had the best shoot to bring the Olympics to their city. The other three candidate cities has their flaws broken down:
1) New York - Too much political infighting over the mid-town stadium issue. Plus, the U.S. has hosted two of the last six summer olympics and not to mention the city is a prime terrorist target.
2) Madrid - Spain had the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona. That was enough.
3) Moscow - Puh-leaze.
Personally, not to take anything away from London, but I think Paris should’ve gotten the Olympic bid. But hey, let’s face facts, supporting an illegal war against a certain middle eastern country has it’s perks, right Mr. Tony Blair?!
Tea anyone?

My heart goes out to every Londoner and Briton whose lives have been affected by the recent bombings that took place early Thursday morning. Certainly there must be a better way to invoke social justice in this world without having to resort to this type of brutal violence that only results in the unnecessary deaths of the innocent….

Watching the news last night in Berlin was really interesting.
A short list of the events on their public news station http://www.ard.de
- terrorist videos of how to make a bomb
- tests showing how a soccer ball could be used as a bomb or
- how suicide bombers could most effectively kill a group of people in a bus
- showing a manaquin with a bomb and surrounded by steel cutouts of people
- also showing inspection of the cutouts that were perforated by ball bearings
followed by
- videos of the london subway fire in 87
- clip of london mayor saying attacks were inevitable, but we need to be prepared
- astonishingly calm victims explaining what happened
- cell phone videos from inside one of the bombed subway cars before they were saved
followed by
- interviews with igermany´s nterior defence minister
- is germany next?
- what is happening on a european level to combat terrorism
- what can individuals do to help
Oddly enough, there was no reference of
- New York
- The war in Iraq
- Tony Blair´s connection to Bush
A general view and list of various government level actions was written up in the international news service or ard, dw.
