Filed Under: Bloodclots, The Usual Rant
Ain’t nothing like a visit from relatives to spice up the day-to-day routine. Grandma, Linda, Sage and Kenny took a six day excursion to the bay area for some sight-seeing, relaxtion and catching up with family. Despite being in town for almost one week I only got to interact with them during the evenings, and even that was limited due to the schedule of projects on my plate. But the time we did share was great and full of the usual antics and tomfoolary that is my family
And they always seem to pick the hottest times of the year to conduct their visits to California….uncanny.
Kenny looked great and got to hang out with his nephew Christian for a few days down in Monterrey who’s working on his Master’s degree. Susi played tour guide most of the time taking everyone to Alcatraz, Fisherman’s Wharf, and Sacramento among other places, but the malls has to be the highlight of all their trips.
And Tibisay and her husband Jim made an appearance during the weekend to grace everyone with their charm and presence; always fun seeing those two. And throughout it all CPW was kool like the other side of the pillow.
Maggie and her boys came out into the big city one night to have dinner with everyone at a family style Italian restaurant named Buca di Beppo on Howard. Apparently the food was too “spicy” for my peeps but that didn’t stop Linda from wielding the video-camera like Francis Ford Coppola, or Sage from stirring the pot of adolescent antics at the dinner table. Meanwhile Jim was just about to put the smack down on the waiter for lagging on the birthday cake, but just in the nick of time did the beautifully delicious & candle-lit pastry present itself. WHEW! That was a close one.
All in all, everyone seemed to have a grand time and, in the end, it was sad to see them go. But hey, there’s always a heat wave next year!
