Damn Yankees

The New York Yankees drop game 5 of the ALDS 5-3 to the Anaheim “I wanna be called L.A.” Angels. Of course I had to catch wind of the bad news during my hell flight back to the west coast (which is another story) but at least the Yanks made a series of it and took it the distance. But excuse me if I wanted to vomit when I saw that crash out in center field during the third inning between Crosby and Sheffield….I just knew that was a bad omen. But the “Goat Award” goes to Pay-Rod, err, I meant Alex Rodriquez, who, although had a great regular season, DIDN’T DO JACK IN THE PLAYOFFS! His performance was something like 2-28 at the plate, but no home-runs. What a chump-monkey. However a fair amount of this year’s blame should also be directed towards Randy Johnson, who had been disappointing for most of the year but comes through with 4 shutout innings in this elimnation game after the Yanks already shot themselves in the foot. “Big Unit” my ass, more like soft shit….oh, I guess that’s what you turn into once you can’t take illegal performance drugs to throw a fast ball. Punk.

All in all, it goes to show that spending absurd amounts of money on free-agents doesn’t guarantee a world championship, if ever, as the past several years have shown with this franchise. But, hey, at least we’re not the Braves.
