Yes folks, it’s true.
After nearly 7 years of the same ‘ol look & feel I’ve finally re-designed my website. No more “it’s coming soon”, “I swear this time, really…” or “by the end of summer” quips as I have offered in the past. No, no, my fellow compatriots, this time I’ve delivered as promised! What you’re seeing is several months of hard work finally coming to fruition as I tackled and tamed the beast that was the overhaul of my personal website. And it proved to be quite a formidable task ’til the very end, especially as I had to learn from the ground-up programming languages such as CSS & PHP to make it function like I had envisioned.
Keeping it short
the overall focus of this re-launch was to address two things: 1) the need to update my online portfolio, which is critical to my livelihood as a graphic designer, and 2) provide the foundation for expansion I needed to showcase my experimental work and general musings, independent but complimentary to the portfolio. I think I’ve achieved this both technically and aesthetically. Sure it may not be the most eye-candyish website out there but it’s perfect for my needs and unlike the previous version it now gives me the room and flexibility for expansion as my intention is to grow the website further as I get new ideas to develop. The most notable addition is the blog, which has been a great tool thus far in helping me conduct more regular correspondance with friends and family. Expect to see more content added to the features and galleries sections regularly.
This is officially Version 3 of my website. The previous version, which I’ve dubbed classic, is what I was using for these past several years. The very first was dominated by an all black background which was customary for most websites between 1995-1998. Unfortunately, I don’t have a backup copy of that hideous corn-ball monstrosity, but it would’ve been nice to review for a bit of freakish nostalgia.
ANYWAYZ, I feel like a huge monkey is finally off my back, and I’m quite happy with the results. I also want to give special thanks to Susi & CPW for all of their support and understanding which was paramount in helping me realize this projects’ completion.
So, now that the dust is settled and the new site is up & running, WHAT DO YOU THINK?! What’s kool, what’s wack, what’s missing, what’s missed??? Please do share any and all comments…I’m a big boy I can handle it
At the very least, let me know of any bugs/errors you encounter so I can address those right away; 95% of the site is already bug-free….but damn that PC Explorer browser!

Hey Big Poppa! Glad to see youse up and running! The galleries really improve the view from my cubicle, espsecially a certain wedding. So… ..much… …content. Free entertainment at work, almost as good as new porn.

Looks tits man, great job. Been waiting for this for a LONG time. The CSS and colors and programming all come together beautifully. I need to brush up on my own CSS skillz, who knows, maybe someday I’ll give my own site a facelift (it’s only been the same since ~2001). But as you know, the more it grows, the harder it is to repackage it!
I especially like the rotating quotes on the front page, that was my initial plan on my site but I never bothered to learn how to program it (or what I tried didn’t work at the time, can’t recall now). Kudos, keep up the great work!

toilet is spelled wrong in that quote about sitting on the toilet seat of life. dude you’re looking trim!!! you tidied up the goatee. nice. oh and the redesign is more…accessible. is that still a good thing? very user amenable. seriously - all the stuff is laid out where you can get to it. all good. glad the bay area is treating you right.over and out.

Great work! It really is as impressive as I had imagined it to be. Really love the decorative nature and the “special” touch you have given it consistently thru-out the site. It is thoughtful and personal. I especially love how the quotables made me laugh hard in the privacy of my own room. Your portfolio is kick-ass.

Showing some love, great site, like how you got the dynamic stuff going on. I’m running IE 6 on XP and see a few text alignment errors, but other then that your site is tight yo. Keep up the good work and keep in touch.
Peace,
Chris Lara
P.S I got some tunes for ya, we gotta schedule a mp3 trade sometime. A’ight lates…
