MCSM revisited

Filed Under: NYC, The Usual Rant
It was a Manhattan Center reunion yesterday as I meet up with Neysa and Lisa down near CitiCorp. We played catch up over some lunch at Ray Bari’s, a pizza chain location in New York I used to frequent when I worked in the area a great many moons ago. There was this older saucy tia that looked out of her ghetto-fab/escort element while she worked the cashier…if only I had a picture. Nace gave the low down on her job and love life and Lisa told us wild stories about her sister being a nautical pilot. Meanwhile, I answered questions regarding my move abroad and tried to get the finer points of how to survive England from these two well traveled peeps.
Afterwards, we meet up with one of my closest friends Reynaldo, who was celebrating his 30th birthday that day near the lipstick building. I tried to explain to Rey what the lipstick building looked like and shocked he couldn’t remember as he use to work in the area too. We went to the “fine collection of restaurants” called Houston’s below the CitiCorp building for some espressos as Rey recapped his distain for the timimg of my blog announcing his wife Cyndi’s (another MCSM alumn) 4+ month pregnancy and on his initial feelings of leaving his twenties for good.
Later on that evening I meet up with Aimee down in South Street Seaport for dinner at the fabulous Cabana resturant. She looked GREAT and we recapped ol’ sub-plots and current ones about our circle of friends and family. It’s always good to see Aime since she rarely, if ever, has anything to frown about. But as she knows (especially after Mr. Thomas’ class) not much can keep me from getting her to laugh. Though we spent several hours conversing and eventually ventured uptown near Lincoln Center to grab some coffee before saying ‘nite, it really wasn’t enough time with her. But then of course, when is it really ever?
