Germany & Italy advance to showdown

Argentina was close to advancing to the quaterfinals.

So close.

But after the host nation tied the the game, the Germans, playing in Berlin’s Olympiastadion, went on to defeat Argentina 4-2 during overtime in a penality shootout. It was a tense match from the start but now I can look forward to a hardcore matchup between Germany and Italy, as the Italians effortlessly defeated the Ukraines 3-0 later in the day.

I have to admit, though I’m not too familiar with this sport, the World Cup is a fun thing to watch and take part in. Everyone really gets into here in Europe but in a clean & fun-spirited way.
