OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I’m usually reserved about these things because of how often they disappoint. But dare I say it: Spider-Man 3 might actually turn out to be the best comic book film ever!
Holy Polaris, the plot setup looks great! The black-suit is badass. The casting is dope. The visuals, stunning. And for crying out loud, it’s just the teaser trailer !?!
Early thoughts anyone???

Hmmmm…
Yes, the trailer looks cool, but the plot seems so thick, could cover two or three movies, 1/2 a year’s issues, or a few months of cross-over comic titles. I mean, the Hobgoblin, Sandman, and Venom? That’s a lot of ground for one Spidey-man to cover in one movie. Or, perhaps they are setting Venom up as the villian for the fourth movie, as the blogs would suggest.
And, as it was in the comic, does he go off-world with a bunch of other heroes to fight a bunch of villians or does Venom, as it seems from the trailer, come to Parker…IN HIS SLEEP?!?!?
Rarely are sequels better than originals. I would argue that Spiderman 2 was at least as good as the first, but, as X-Men 2 & 3 and every Batman sequel up until the latest has taught me to be, I am afraid…very afraid.
Thanks for the link to the trailer JJP. At least that was kick-ass.
Cheers!

Jim, judging from the trailer (that I\’ve watched now 18 times) it\’s looking like the plot\’s leaning heavily towards setting up Venom for part 4. Part 3 will explain how Peter got the suit first and why it ultimately proves to be evil which provides the best seqway for Eddie Brock\’s character (a.k.a. Venom), played by Topher Grace, to step in as the main villian for the next sequel. It\’s true to the comic in that way of telling the story, and gives hope that Sam Raimi, Kirsten Dunst and Tobey McGuire will come out for a fourth Spidey flick afterall.
Regarding the symbiote black costume, I think the most plausible ways they could introduce the concept in the film is that either some \”weird\” material came back on the Space Shuttle with John Jameson (J.J.J.\’s son) or it was cooked up in a lab at Osborn Corp. as Harry Osborn is clearly taking up his father\’s mantle as the Green Goblin.
either way, oooooooh I can\’t wait!!!!!!!!!

Eh, X2 had a damn dam breaking and Spidey 2 pissed me off with Doc Ock’s selectivley powerfull fusion thingy going critical as a major plot point. I need/crave only one thing from superhero movies. Hulk aside, I need superheros fighting super villians. No natural disasters, no squads of cop commandos, no frigging imminent explosions, and NO DAMN DAMS BREAKING. I could see Topher as Carnage before Venom, but I assume he’s been on the McGuire regimen. Now Sandman vs. Spidey vs. Hobbie vs. Venom? Yes, please. And Kirsten Dunst jogging in the rain on a cold day.

Okay. I want to see this too, but I have to vote for sin city as the best comic book movie… They are in post with sin city 2 as we speak and I think there might be a 3rd movie in the works for 08…

Dude…you know way too much about this shit.
And…Kirsten Dunst is cute, but really…takes more than a nipple.
