Campioni Del Mondo!

Italy won their fourth World Cup championship tonight against France. I watched the game with Dimitri & Spyros and a few other Ewen residents and it was a nerve racking match from the start. Though I was generally happy for the Italians winning the cup, I thought France played the better game overall — in fact I think they should have won. But it seemed France lost it’s momentum once Zinedine Zidane was ejected late in the second extra period for head-butting Italian player Marco Mazzeri. It seemed to be such a sad way for Zidane to end his football career on the game’s biggest stage. All I know is that the lone Italian watching the game with us could care less about Zidane and was super estactic that his home country brought home the goods.

Anyway, the game was a nice temporary break from the hectic final weekend push to complete projects for my Tuesday deadline. And on that note, I venture back to my studies…
