A legend has passed away today.
Arnold “Red” Auerbach guided the NBA’s Boston Celtics to eight consecutive championships in the 1960’s, a feat yet to be matched by any other professional ball club regardless of the sport. He is a hall of fame basketball coach and was a famous sports figure during my parents generation, so he’s a bit before my time. Never the less I always did enjoy the sharp wit he would often display in interviews and on the sidelines so below I listed a few of Red’s quoteable quotes in his honor:
“He who believes in nobody knows that he himself is not to be trusted.”
“The only correct actions are those that demand no explanation and no apology.”
