I Kiss You

With all the media hoopla surronding the film “Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan I wonder if anyone remembers that classic jewel of a website by the Turkish stud-muffin of the internet proclaiming “I Kiss You” to all the ladies of the world?! Genius.

When I first saw that website I was still in college just getting my bearings with the internet and trying to figure out what HTML was all about. I just did a search for it and someone has the original homepage mirrored and I broke down into a overwheming cackles of laughter as the nostalgia flooded my senses. Though it represents a fine example of what a crap “homepage” can looks like and what to avoid web design-wise in general, it’s that same tackyness that gives the homepage it’s charm along with the broken, but frank, English.

Now I wonder just how much British comedian Sacha Baron Cohen has ripped of Mahir Çağrı for the creation of his Borat character, and if he should kick back some $$$ for the millions he’s making off his likeness?
