Giving Thanks

For this year’s “Thanksgiving” holiday — or Thankstaking, as I like to refer to it — instead of gluttonously celebrating this misnomer day, I would rather take some time to point out some of the things that I’m thankful for:

…I’m thankful for Family Ties — Sometimes we may not always get along with our kin-folks, but in the end I’m grateful that they are there. Every last one of ‘em.

…I’m thankful for having wonderful & meaningful friendships — from different moments and juncture points in my life thus far I’ve managed to befriend some very wonderful people. Your presence in my life is truly a priceless treasure.

…I’m thankful for living & studying in London - This year I’ve simultaneously been able to pursue my master’s in graphic design and travel the world a little bit by studying abroad in England. It’s been such a great experience and an eye opener for me and it’s sad to realize the program is ending pretty soon. No matter what happens at year’s end I’ll always treasure my time spent here and the friends I’ve made on the course.

…I’m thankful for playing catch-up with old friends in new places — I’ve managed to conduct some long overdue face-to-face time with old friends living out in Europe this year. Nothing but good times.

…I’m thankful for Republicans losing both the House & Senate in the USA’s mid-term elections just a couple of weeks ago. But will still have much work left to do to correct the past 6 years of blunders…

…I’m thankful for YouTube.com allowing me to keep up on things back home stateside while also providing some entertaining video clips that you just would never see on “regular” television.

…I’m thankful for your time — I always appreciate when people take time out of their busy lives to read this blog and post comments every now and then. It really warms my heart.

peace!

I’m with you Jamie, there is much to be thankful for. This year I am especially grateful for my sweet baby Benny, my big love Chad, my sister and niece and my mothers (Chad’s and mine) those great women who define what it means to give unconditional and selfless love. I am also grateful for my friends, you among them; the sincerity and warmth in your words is touching.
Big hug homie!
Claudia

Heh heh … maybe it’s schmaltzy, but I’m pretty grateful for the technology that lets us all stay in touch across these many miles. It’s almost like you never left! (Except of course that we never get to hang out anymore … :) ) I hope your holiday was wonderful! And, ah, now I have one more thing to be jealous about - you get to spend the Christmas season in London. Make it a time to remember … you only go around once. :)
