General Ignorance

I’ve been enjoying reading a book during the holidays titled “The Book of General Ignorance” by Stephen Fry. It’s full of little factoids about common things we all think we have a factual grip on, when in most cases we actually don’t! The book sheds some light on a slew of common misconceptions and popular misunderstandings.

Take these for example: the Earth actually has MORE than one moon, George Washington wasn’t the first President of the U.S., and that mount Everest isn’t the tallest mountain structure on Earth. There’s just tons more…

Clever ladies-man Spyros saw me mesmerized by it in the bookstore as we were doing some holiday shopping and he decided to pick it up for me as a gift. What are you trying to say there buddy, huh!?
