Easily one of the best films I’ve seen in the past year!
I caught this dutch flick on a transatlantic flight back to New York and it is a top-notch thriller set during the WW II German occupation of the Netherlands. It’s received rave reviews and I think it’s worth all the praise. Zwartboek is well written, featuring stunning cinematography, set designs, and stars a very talented hottie named Carice van Houten who plays a Jewish singer that helps the Dutch resistance pentrate the German regional headquaters, but then later has to run from both sides of the conflict and prove her innocence by finding the real betrayer of the resistance.
