no. 756*

Barry Bonds belted his 756 home run last night to overtake Hank Aaron’s 33 year record to become baseball’s home run king. Bonds did it infront of his team’s home crowd back in San Francisco where the fans there have been the most supportive, especially in light of the steroid investigation that currently surrounds him.

In light of Bonds implication with steroid usage it’s still a remarkable feat and certainly one of the toughest things to accomplish in all of the major league sports. But it’s truly sad that they’ll always be an asterisk to his accomplishment. For now, the questions become:

1) how many more will he add to the record,
2) will he return for another year to play in the 2008 season,
3) will he be back with San Francisco, and
4) who cares?

As probably the only Giants fan who’ll contribute to this..

1. Who cares unless I catch one. I’m sick of hearing about Bonds.
2. No. We don’t want him anymore.
3. He better not be back with the Giants. As a fan, the money paid to him could be better spent (A-Rod, Tori Hunter, anyone else)
4. Bobblehead manufacturers. They haven’t been able to make the bobblehead proportional to his actual head. You would think it would be easy.

I love the uni. Still not as good as the Jared Jeffries press conference. Pretty good though.

BOOOOOOO!

as much as I think the record breaking is really F’ing cool, I wish it had been some other juiced up, huge forarm toting bay-area slugger, say Mcguire, rather than Barry “i couldn’t care about you” bonds. ick. Or rather some one who doesn’t juice at all. like a pitcher. hahahahaha

Let see, they don’t mean anything and this farce continues. There is a reason that his “trainer” is sitting quiet in the pokie. A f’n travesty.
Hammerin’ Hank forever, until his record is legitimately broken.

P.S. the “skinnier” version of A-Rod is not “legitimately breaking” bonds “record.”

Hate his guts.
Go to hell, Barry.

The worst part of all this is how the newsmedia is trying to turn it into a “race” issue, pointing out how much more african americans were cheering for Bonds. Last I checked, baseball was having an enormous crisis trying to attract blacks to the game, period.

The guy is a cheating jerk of a puke face. The fact that people are working so hard to legitimize him speaks volumes.
