MCSM BBQ

Yesterday was a beautiful day. Perfect weather for a barbeque in fact.

And that’s where I went, a BBQ outing hosted by some friends I went to high school with. It’s been ages since I last saw & heard from Jennifer Caraballo (now Mrs. Lopez, a.k.a J. Lo!) but we recently reconnected and she extended me an invite to Jefferson Park where we all spent our formative years getting educated to hang out with everyone and catch up on things.

Talk about flashbacks!

It was a good turnout of former Manhattan Center kids and everyone looked great and I’m happy to see that we’re all doing really good. Lot’s of procreating happening with everyone as well, so much so that Abraham remarked he felt behind the latino parent bell-curve graph being thirty-something.

John worked the grill like a pro, Ishmail & Abe tossed the football for a spell while plenty of food was served as we all recapped tales both old & new along with making time to celebrate Ralph’s birthday. And of course Freestyle music was in the mix despite Tina’s “But c’mon now, really, how do you dance to it!?” quips.

All in all, it was a grand time and I feel fortunate to have such good friends despite the time & distance apart all these years. Big props goes to Jennifer, January, John & Jose for organizing it all from start to finish and making sure everything went off without a hitch.
