Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer

Another late review here… checked out this movie sequel to the classic comic book Fantastic Four with my buddy Reynaldo and his usual entourage.
The CGI rendering of the Silver Surfer was the highlight of the film, and Norrin Radd sure did look sweet. Needless to say the movie in general was visually appealing but soft regarding overall plot and character development. But kids will love it as well as the uber geek, and I must admit I never really got into F4 as a kid anyway. With plenty of insider references and Johnny Storm acting like a jackass fanboys will love it enough to ignore the fact that Galactus was nothing more than an interstellar cloud of dirt. Really.
But in all fairness, let us not forget that we have come a long way from that 1994 F4 “film” most especially Jay Underwood’s portrayal of Johnny Storm. A long way indeed.
