Some have called it the anti-Blade Runner. I just call it a damn good sci-fi flick that I’m surprised I didn’t hear very much about when it was first released last year. Clive Owen plays a anti-hero of sorts trying to shepherd a pregnant woman to safety in this now gloomy infertile civilization of mankind.
The film draws many parallels to the contemporary ills of today’s world and is very cleverly thought provoking as it is loaded with Christian symbolism. I watched it on DVD just the other week and it’s packed with bonus features, but it’s the special half-hour commentary that is an absolute “must see” feature that showcases some of world’s notable globalization scholars take on today’s modern woes which are reflected like a prism throughout the film.

You should have wrote this article around a year ago when the movie came out. Great flick, but I’ve heard a lot of people didn’t like it. Maybe they we’re expecting a zombie movie.

I think the movie flies over a lot of heads since the deeper messages woven into the film aren’t obvious at first. Golly, imagine that: a movie that actually makes you think!

I saw it my “one” time, and that was bad enough based solely on the quality of cast that they had, in relation to the quality or lack therof of the movie.
