Mumbai Killing Spree

News still shot of an injured Indian man from the Mumbai terror attacks

Unless you’ve been living under a rock these past couple of days or over-stuffed from Thankstaking to turn on the news then undoubtly you would have heard sometime about a wave of attacks by a group of gunman in Mumbai, India practically paralyzing the city. After two days of violence the death toll is up to 160 with over 327 injured. Apparently as of this afternoon Indian Commandos have the last gunman holed up inside the Taj Mahal Hotel where it was one of nine places that were targeted to launch attacks throughout the city.

As deplorable as these attacks are I couldn’t help but take notice at how local authorities seem to be uncertain as to who are actually behind these attacks but official reports are stating that the gunman (with eleven of them dead now) were sophisticated in their use of AK-47’s and grenades and there is suspicion that neighboring Pakistan may have a connecting link to the gunman, along with al-Qaida, Lashkar-e-Tayyiba and even Israel.

And if anyone has been keeping up with their general current events, you’ll be aware that the U.S. wants to focus more of it’s military efforts in Afganistan which borders Pakistan; something to bear in mind when you hear the hawks in Washington make the case for additional funding for wars.

I’m really curious to hear what is actually being reported in other parts of the world because I’m sure each country is emphasizing different elements of these events tailored to it’s locality, and I’d like to see what elements are consistent across the board so if any of you could chime in and let me know what your local news is reporting that would be much appreciated.

But most importantly my sincerest sympathies goes out to everyone in Mumbai affected by all of this madness right now. And for the few friends that I know living there I pray that you’re all safe from harm.

FYI, here in London the news is emphasizing that Britons and U.S. citizens were being disproportionately targeted, and mostly in tourist areas. Other news sources are indicating that Australians were also being attacked as well some other Europeans.

Smells pretty fishy to me, I’ve been getting some interesting e-mail on the subject. Here are links to a few articles, worth a look for some non-MSM viewpoints:

I was watching CNN earlier and it seemed like all they kept talking about were the americans that were killed. I turned the channel when I wasn’t getting any further information on what was really going on. I ended up watching Kimora Life in the Fab Lane….how superficial of me, right? However where can we get factual news? Or find out what’s really going on?

Joy: Generally IndyMedia.org is a good independent site for news; unfortunately both the Mumbia and India specific IMC portals are down right now.

PJ: Thanks for the links, sadly confirms what I was already thinking suspecting, i.e. geopolitics. I pulled out one excerpt from each of the links you sent me in relative order:

“The facts tell a different story, however - one Briton killed, no dead Americans, no dead or injured Israelis, yet up to 125 Indians killed. The only “evidence” of any Al Qaeda or foreign Islamist involvement has been the citing of the “coordination” of the attacks.”

“The fact that there are no convincing suspects as yet also points to a state-sponsor trying to disguise itself as a large terror group. That might explain why there are no demands… Demands identify the suspect.”

“The western propaganda machine has taken a domestic problem, which expresses itself almost on a monthly basis in India with routine bombings and attacks, and amplified it beyond all proportion to claim that the attacks were an assault on western democracy, capitalism, and ultimately the Anglo-American power alliance. The horrible slaughter of hundreds of mostly Indian civilians in Mumbai will now be used as a poster child for continued bombing campaigns inside Pakistani territory and an expansion of the ailing war on terror under President elect Barack Obama, which in the long term only means that more innocent lives will be lost.”

And the fact that there are a ton of mutli-national corporation’s call centers and IT facilities located in Mumbai is an interesting observation in relation to the current economic crisis going on. The implications of that is huge in it’s scope.

SPIEGEL article
The gunman illustrated above…
- name is Azam Amir Kasav
- 21 years old
- speaks fluent English
- comes from Faridkot Pakistan

Kasav has been captured by police and is currently being interviewed. Here are the “facts” that are coming out.
- The boss came to Mumbai a month ago from Pakistan to plan the attacks.
- Further fighters (circa 24) came by boat from Karatschi. They took over a boat from the Indian Coast Guard near Gujarat. The Fighters killed one of the two Coast Guard Officers and used their boat to enter Mumbai sea space.
- Four nautical miles from Mumbai, they killed the other Officer and transferred into separate rubber dinghy boats for the final approach.
-The attacks started the following morning.

In a separate Spiegel article, the say that 9 terrorists were killed and 1 has been arrested. What happened to the others?

All in all, at least three Germans were killed.

I just saw this blog article casting doubt on the Mumbai attackers being from Pakistan but rather being of Hindu origin as evident of the Kalava orange wrist band being one worn by one of the gunman as shown in some surveillance footage (see picture above in the main post of this blog) which suggests this is a potential inside job of the Indian government. At the very least the main stream news has failed to notice this detail in their “analysis” of the event; certainly something that makes you go “hmmmm”…

Pay attention folks, this is what I’m talking about: as the Pakistani gov’t defends itself against accusations of any involvement behind the Mumbai attacks, the U.S. media is pumping out articles about a potential near future biological attack in the U.S. will “most likely” be perpetrated by nationals of Pakistani origins:

http://edition.cnn.com/2008/US/12/02/terror.report/index.html

I’m not suggesting that we don’t take appropriate measures to prepare & protect ourselves from such a possible event, but if only by using recent history as a guide (if not all of history) this sounds more like the beginnings of a war drum march to justify military operations against Pakistan than anything else. Be very suspicious of “news” like this.

Yeah, seems like a fairly poorly-executed false flag “attack” to justify future military aggression against Pakistan (which “same strings, new puppet” Barama has been hawkishly promising throughout his campaign).
